DELL. R-520. No RAID 6-Support? :/
I bought this extreme server ( it is super ultra)) to use for Backing up stuff from Personal home computer. So its with great sadness i figure , RAID 6 doesnt even work? I have 4x450GB SAS for O.S, 4x2TB SATA for storage. However, in the PERC's BIOS setup , there is only RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5 and RAID 10 to choose from ? Ist RAID 6 unsupported by this server ?

"extreme server" and "super ultra" ... NO idea what you are talking about there.
The SERVER supports RAID 6, but the CONTROLLER you have (H310) does NOT. For RAID 6, you will need the H710 RAID controller.

You need a top notch PERC H710p and not the low end el'cheapo H310 which doesnt offer battery backup cache and no RAID6/60.

it is really really good. i have placed countr strike and other game on it. its super fast ^^
what the hellfifthing ... even the old Ps6K SAN does that ?? raid 6... so i really have to put Everµ singel drive in the 5 Y. Older San to have raid 6 ????????????

Geez, I can't understand anything you type. I'll just make the assumption that what you said is incorrect:
The H3x0 and S3x0 controllers are LOW-END controllers. You would not be using them if you were even remotely concerned about performance.

i just Says the server is Extremely brutal ,, it does Very fast and extreme , https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbsYPXAJhxU&t=124s
but i cant get raid VI to work on it . can i upgrade Firmware ?? i doubt its Hardware issue

Ty, mark Answer . forgot this tread . i Think raid 5 is Enough for me (in network of 4 Unit. Where at least 2 are Raid 6 )
