Need Assistance with specing a Rack Solution

Hi,

I have a situation with 14 - Power Edge 2950 III with redundant power supplies that will be fully loaded spread across two Dell 4210 racks and need some direction or help with a sizing a UPS and proper PDU setup. Based on example calcs from Racksolutions here is what I have so far:

2950 III
750W

750 + 20% = 900W
750 - 20% = 600W

900W/120VAC = 7.5A (max)
750W/120VAC = 6.25A (spec)
600W/120VAC = 5A (min)

6 Servers on 1 PDU

7.5A * 6 servers = 45A (Max Load)
6.25A * 7 servers = 43.75A (spec)
5A * 9 Servers = 45A (min)

I would like to use a fully manageable PDU like the APC switched PDUs and I forgot to include a monitor /keyboard,
1 -48 port gig switch, KVM solution (Dell), a rack fan for each rack and wiggle room for growth.

Thank you,

-cityh-

BTW - How accurate is the Dell Datacenter Sizing tool - the numbers seem off to me.

This is an excellent document

Dell RapidPower Power Distribution

This is some other excellent references

There is another document called Dell Rack Engineering RapidPower PDU Best Practices that has everything you ever need to know about Power.  Hower I can't seem to find that link.  I do have that document and if you send me your email I'll send it to you.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.
