RP4VM 5.0.1.2 - Can vRPAs be in different ESXi Cluster that Protected VMs?

Hi,

IHAC that has a vCenter with several ESXi Clusters and he would like deploy vRPAs in one ESXi Cluster and the VMs that will be protected will be in another different ESXi Cluster, but both ESXi Cluster will be in the same vCenter.

Is this configuration supported or is required that vRPAs and VMs to be in the same ESXi Cluster?

Thanks in advance and best regards,

Francisco Tomas.

I should add that the ESX cluster with the VMs requires the pre-requisites to facilitate protection, vmkernel port configuration for iSCSI, registration and splitters on the ESXi nodes.

It's installed as part of the ESX cluster registration so the last two pre-reqs are related.

Thanks Rich. I understand that splitters on ESXi nodes where VMs are must be install manually. Is it correct?
