RPA CDP Local copy won't mount to Linux Mount host thru Replication manager
EMC told us to use RPA CDP Local copy (virtual volume thru VPLEX) to backup instead of clones using RM. RM won't mount the CDP copy..it grants physical logged access in RPA...gets to 6% and fails with error below ..The mount host is Linux VM guest(no Powerpath as that runs on ESX layer)
EMC engineering is looking but they dont seem to have much history oif anyone doing this using VPLEX

Hi there,
Were you able to perform the mount manually outside of RM? I highly recommend performing a Test Copy (enable image access test) to validate that the CG is configured properly with all required LUNs that belong to the Linux host. I would also recommend that you continue working through Support to resolve the issue.

Tried the mount outside RM...vgrp issues...trying full sync of prod to CDP local....
We seem to be missing one of the LUNs for the vgphm volume group. It’s physically on the server (/dev/sdb), but the volume group doesn’t know what the device name is. It’s almost like the copy is “corrupt” or something – we have a similar issue with the other volume group (it actually shows (4) of the (6) LUNs as “missing).
For example – the vghpm volume group should have (5) PVs – but it can’t seem to find one of them:

Somewhere along the line, the VG/PV information is getting messed up… Can you resync them from scratch and then we can try this again. This is probably the issue that we’re seeing with RM (probably just a bad error message in the logs about PowerPath devices).

Did you compare the LUNs that the host sees and those contained in the Consistency Group - if there is a missing LUN(s) add it to the CG and a volume sweep will take place. Once complete you can try the image access once more. To resynchronize the entire CG you can simply disable and re-enable it which will cause Full Sweep, alternatively you can run an integrity check.
What version of RP and type of Splitter are you using? Are those thin LUNs?
