Upgrade failure do to problem detected in installed license

Hi,

I am upgrading from 3.5 SP2 to 4.0 SP2 P3 (Gen4) but the upgrade is failing due to license issue. The error msg is as below:

"Apply Upgrade Failed. A problem has been identified in the currently installed license. To perform the upgrade, contact EMC customer support to obtain a valid license."

Has anyone else seen this? I have valid license installed and it has been running all this time. Support case has been logged but EMC licensing provided me new license key for version 4 which I cannot use with version 3.5.

Hi Sanjesh,

You should be able to upgrade to 4.0.x and then apply the 4.x license files. Licensing changed between these major versions – no more license keys and activation codes.

Thanks Rich. That was exactly what I was doing but looks like the original license key had some issues. Licensing team re-issued another key for 3.5 and the upgrade went through without any errors using after updating RPA with the new key.
