concept of journal

Q1: where is journal log stored? in the recovery point appliance or in the storage?
Q2: should i configure a journal log lun for a source lun or for a group of lun(Consistency group)
Q3: sizing of the journal log lun, if my source lun is 100G, what should be recommend for journal lun? in my concept, since recovery point capture all data and metadata, this lun will be very very big.
thanks in advance.

A1: SAN Storage.

A2: At least one journal LUN per site per consistency group. For example, with 5 consistency groups in CRR you will need at least 5 journal LUN's per site, i.e. at least 10 journal LUN's.

A3: Depends mostly on the rate of change and how far back you want to be able to recover. Also, whether you are planning Target Side Processing (TSP) and the size of changes you expect from TSP. Later releases provide more flexibility with snapshot consolidation.

Hope it helps...
