Database partitioning features using mixed Native Archive dbs

Hi everybody,

databases partitioning feature seems to be enabled or not depending if you initially install Native Archive db on a SQL Server Enterprise or not.

My customer is an outsourcer and they wanted to initially use a SQL Server Standard edition license.

If their business with ES1 services grows well they could need to use a bigger archive and they could invest money for a SQL Ent license.

Then if they install a new Native archive on an Enteprise SQL, so partition could be enabled on it, and they connect this new native archive to previous ES1 server then could they use ES1 partition features ? Obviously I meant restricted to that new native archive ?
