Adding a CD Burner

I have a  Dell Dimension 2400 and I want to add a CD burner.
When I purchased the computer, it did not come with a burner, only a CD drive and a Floppy drive.
I was wondering if I could add an INTERNAL CD burner in the extra bay on the front panel?
Or can I only add an EXTERNAL CD burner from the USB port?
Does the CPU have enough cables (power and audio) to support another CD drive/burner?
If yes, please tell me how.
Thanks,

Hi Noman,

Yes you can add a second internal optical drive in 2400 series. The system has two 5-25" bays and additional spare power cables as well. The original IDE cable will have a "middle" attachment connection for the second device. Your Power Supply will work just fine and an audio cable is not needed, the sound will play digitally through the IDE cable.
You can install a external drive if you wish but that choice is yours my friend.

Here is the Dell User Guide to help you with the install if needed:
Adding / Removing CD drive in 2400 series

Best Regards

God, grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,
the good fortune to run into the ones I do
and the eyesight to tell the difference.
