CD-ROM - Drive opens and closes continuously
CD-ROM - Drive opens and closes continuously. Can't make it stop. Can anyone offer any advice? Thanks in advance.

Hi Birkie,
Go to Device Manager, select the drive and click Uninstall; shutdown, open the case and reseat the IDE cable going from the motherboard to the back of the drive. Turn your system back on and see if this helps. Also Please, click on the CD/RW link in my post and scroll to Section 13-0, article 22 and review those steps as well.

A couple of floppies prevent the tray from opening and closing and bring instant relief.
