Dell Lattitude c400 notebook IDE Disk/IDE Verify tests fail
Hi, i am not a technical expert but a fourty 1 year old university student. I am hoping someone might be able to help me. My laptop was fine when i went to bed, when i got up it had a blue screen with a message on it . with something like the checksum doesnt match , i ran the diagnostics tree test and the results were :
IDE Disk Read Test Fail- Error Code ofoo:0244 message block- 24794619
IDE Verify Test Fail Error Code: ofoo:1A44 message block- 24794619
Diskette Drive A Line - Error Code 1100:012A
My friend has tried to re boot it for me using an external disk drive but cannot the words non executionable disk device are showing. the external drive i have borrowed was a yamaha .

The hard drive is failing - replace it. You need a 2.5" 9.5 mm parallel ATA drive, no larger than 80G.
