Dimension 4300 powering on problem(does not turn on)

Question

Last night my computer was working fine. This morning when i went to turn the power on my 4300, it did not even start up!? Is my power cord fried!? The only thing i can think of is that, i was always maxing out my hard drive space to the max. Could this be the problem?  Before i shutdown my computer last night i installed a 'pc game'. I am at a dead end here and dont know how to solve this problem. I am clueless, so If any of you have experianced this or know whats going on please help!! thanks!!

Any power lights on? Power LED blinking, steady, green, amber? Totally dead?

If totally dead, it's either the PS or the mainboard. The PS is simpler to replace (assuming that this is not a 4300S system).

I see no kind of power lights on, so i am guessing its 'totally' dead. I have a 4300 and not the 4300s. What is a ps? and how can i replace it? My main question is how did this happen to my computer and what can i do in the future to avoid it?

A PS is a Power Supply and you can buy a replacement from Dell Spare Parts, Phone 1-800-357-3355 x 6993772 M-F 8 to 5 CDT and have the system's "Service Tag" handy.

How it happened? All mechanical devices will fail, it's just a question of when, hence the reason for warranties.
