Do I need to change jumper sets

Dimension 8400
Existing HDD Maxtor MaxLine III
New HDD Maxtor DiamondMax +9

Added new drive. Not change jumpers. Seems to work fine.
Is this ok?
TIA.

Ps. This has been done following a nightmare CAR service from Dell / Getronics.
I updated my BIOS from Dell which killed my machine. Dell collected, repaired and returned but without my original HDD. Shock panic etc...Contacted Dell over several painful days. Week or so later got my original HDD back. Plugged it in an thank God all my data is still there.Phew. Totally hacked off with Getronics (and Dell a bit) though!

As long as the system is working correctly, then don't worry.

if there is only one drive on that IDE or SATA cable, the system will use it and u have to do nothing

if you add another drive to the cable, then u need to set both of them
