The GX520 comes in three configurations: Mini-Tower, Desktop and Small Form Factor. You have a SATA hard drive (original?) and it has a DVD/CD drive (IDE). You added an IDE hard drive to the IDE Cable with the CD/DVD drive.
Did you do the following .... set the DVD/CD drive jumper to the Cable Select position (factory setting) and set IDE hard drive jumper to the Cable Select position. Upon boot-up, did you enter the Set-up and enable the IDE channel that the new hard drive is connected too?
