Factory recovery on Inspiron 3521 from recovery media

I had made backup of my system (Dell Inspiron 3521) in 3 dvd's which had windows 8. Then I upgraded it to windows 8.1 and I was using it very smoothly. But now since 2 weeks my system is having many problems such as blue screens, hanging, etc.

So I decided to restore my factory image from those 3 dvd's. I tried to restore that but it came up with an error called "4001100200001005". I searched for that code and came to know that it occured because of "OEM hard drive was replaced with a retail hard drive". But I never replaced my hard drive. As a matter of fact I never opened my laptop's back (hardware) as I bought it approx. 8 months ago (yes it is in warranty period). So now I am unable to restore factory image.

So please anyone help me to solve this issue.

Hi OSPREY4,

Thank you for your suggestion but is it necessary to erase entire hard drive?

Is there any other way that only my 'C:' is erased and not my entire drive?

Please read the article. Only the system partition is erased. Obviously, it would be impossible to erase the entire drive using a utility that resides on the hard drive.
