GX260, Installed second hd,bios will not recognize either?
I have optiplex GX260 desktop,with windows xp sp2.
trying to add second hard drive, then image 40gb to new 250gb.
I've reseached how to do this, and have run System preparation tool
to prepare for cloning,Problem is that my bios will not recognize
either of the two hard drives and will not let me into bios
configuration.Tried jumpering both drives to cable select,no luck.
i tried jumpering original hd to master, left new hd set to cable select,no luck.
It's not very clear how to set new hd to slave.
I've now disconnected second drive, original boots fine and am now using this computer.
new hd is seagate 250bg ultra ata.
Any help would be great

Turns out, just because you buy a new ide cable doesn't mean it
works. Bought the most expensive cable i could find and Bingo.
thanks so much for your reply, everone here is so helpful to new
pc users.
