Inspiron 518; PowerDVD Blu-Ray Blue Ray Blu Ray CyberLink; MEDIA DIRECT 4.0 VS. 4.7

Hi, I am having issues playing a blu ray disk on my laptop. The media direct 4.0 software doesn't appear to be working properly. The previews will start without any volume and then when I get to the screen to select the option of actually playing the movie, nothing happens. I've called Dell 4 times and they can't seem to resolve the issue. They had me uninstall and then re-install the MediaDirect 4.0 software, but it didn't help. I've read a few other posts where users downloaded MediaDirexct 4.7 to resolve the issue, but when I attempted this, I got a message box saying that I need BD PACK 3.5. Dell wants me to back up all my files so they can restore the desktop (Inspiron 518) to it's original settings. I would rather avoid doing this. Shouldn't they be able to download both the BD PACK 3.5 and MediaDirect 4.7 for me to resolve this issue?

Does anyone have any suggestions? This seems to be an issue with the Media Direct software. I'm at my wits end! Thanks.

Also go here and read another forums members solution after installing MediaDirect 4.7.
