Jumper Settings on a Hard Drive
I would like to know how to set the jumpers on a HD to act as a slave/ master because i want to move my old hard drive to my noew PC. can someone show me how because the Hard drive has no lable on it saying whether it is on slave or master setting. thanks.

Jumper settings can vary from one brand to another. Check the manufacturer's web site to see if their tech support section offers documentation on your model in regards to the jumper settings. Most manufacturers provide this service.

Most hard drives don't show the jumpers on the case or on a label unlike optical drives which mostly do.
Look at the manufacturer and the model number which will be present somewhere on the drive, then go to their website (www.maxtor.com or www.seagate.com or whatever)
> click Support or Tech info > enter the model and the jumper information will be there for sure, even for older units.
