Latitude CP remove floppy disk drive module (input rating 5v-0.68amps) and insert a 24xCD-Rom module (input rating: 5V=1.4amps)

I wish to remove the Dell floppy disk drive module (0.68amps)already in the Latitude CP and insert a CD-Rom module(1.4amps). Can I do this without harming the CD-Rom module?
