Latitude D600 Hard Drive Replacement

I need to replace my HDD, and was looking at the usual sites like Newegg and Tigerdirect, but none of the HDD's there had the headphone and microphone plugs like the hard drive I have now has on its side. Where does everyone find reasonably priced replacement hard drives for their Latitude's... other than on Dell... Thanks

You should take a careful look at your service guide and examine the drive assembly after you have removed it from the computer.  See this:

I think you will find that the drive you need is a standard type and that all you need do is remove the shell which contains the connections you are worried about from the old drive and put the new drive in its place.

Is there any limitations to which 2,5" hard drive can be used.
160G, 200G, etc....

The largest drive listed in the spares list is 60 GB, but I would think you should be good to 120 GB with a recent bios.  The most recent is A16.  Dells use drives that are 9.5mm in height for the most part.  The D600 uses parallel ATA so you need an EIDE drive.  Don't forget to check for the adapter on the drive interface connector.  If your original drive has one you need to remove it very carefully as straight off as possible to avoid bending pins.
