Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 SATA 160GB replacement PCB

After searching the entire Dell website looking for an email address to contact some sort of human being and failing this is my last option.

I have a fried PCB on a Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 SATA 160GB
Code: YAR51HW0
Firmware: U8FYA
CPU: agere ARDENT c10-C1 040119500

I am needing either a replacement HDD to borrow the board from or, a replacement PCB for this drive. I have crucial data needed.

Can anyone give me a contact email address for Dell in New Zealand to try source this part. Or can someone on here that works for dell and is preferably a human please shed some light on my options.

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply, I have contacted them. Any other ideas would be appreciated, especially from Dell.

Hi
Dell is not going to respond to you here !
We are a user to user forum !
Even if you call Dell they would not sell you a PCB for your hard drive
they would sell you the hole hard drive .
Dell is not in the {junk spare parts business} they only sell new stuff !!
Backup Backup is your friend !
Good Luck

You can try purchasing the exact same model drive you have and swapping the logic board - it's a no-guarantee proposition. For some model drives this will work, but for others it will not - it depends on the design of the drive.

If data recovery is crucial, you should realize that attempting to do this is very risky - you could wind up rendering the data totally unrecoverable, so consider that against the as-noted significant cost of having a professional data recovery company do the job.
