Need Help for Prompt commands to remove data on hard drive. 100% Erase!
What I want to do is completely destroy all information on my other computer and completely 100% erase the hard drive and restaill windows. I remember doing this with Dell Support over the phone, it was a good 10 minute step by step commands.
Such as.
A:C:->
C:Windows ->
C:Windows/Command ->
C:Window/Command
I remember a few of the commands but I need all of the commands in the correct numerical order, so I can delete my hard drive completely!
The computer is Demension L433C
Operating System is Windows 98 SE
Incase that helps any.
I've also tried using KillDisk.com it does not work for me, can't get it to operate properly.
Thanks for your information whenever possible!

No, formatting the hard drive, will erase the data, but not completely, there will still be some remnants left.
You could try Darik's Boot and Nuke here that has windows 98 support.

Hi Jukiahs,
Formatting the drive is merely changing boot information and doing a "read / verify" on the entire drive. It really doesn't erase any user data AT ALL.
Bev's suggestion to use that software is probably best.
