Look on the Norton CD for a utility called symclean -- you can also download it from Symantec.

Removing Norton is the best thing you can do to help your computer's performance.

Hi

http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039?Open&src=&docid=2001092114452606&nsf=nav.nsf&view=df0a595864594c86852567ac0063608c&dtype=&prod=&ver=&osv=&osv_lvl=

Be careful it will remove almost everything Norton make from your system. I used it to clean up prior to re-installing NAV. It removed Norton Ghost without asking.

I was not best pleased.to put it mildly. I have the CD so re-installation was easy.

I would suggest you proceed carefully. Inability reinstall Norton plus inability to access the Symantec website spells trouble - I suspect you have a virus that is already loaded on the system.
