Question about buying a hard drive from Dell

Hello, my hard drive has failed on my laptop and I need to replace it. The failed hard drive had the OS already installed from the factory from when I purchased my laptop. It never came with a startup disk for WinXP, it was simply Ctrl+F11 to reinstall to factory settings. If I order a new hard drive from Dell, does the new hard drive come with this same feature or do I have to purchase WinXP software in addition to the hard drive? Thank you.

Your new HD from Dell will not come with the reinstall partition on it. What you need to do is to order a reinstall XP disc from dell, if you live in the US, then you can use this online form HERE, if you live outside the US, then you will have to contact your local dell support.
