Raid volume error and reboot not happening
As i started up windows, i noticed in a balloon in the bottom right-hand corner i had a RAID Volume Error!!!!
I rebooted my system pressed "Ctrl and I" and i reset the disk (the disk with the error) to NON-RAID!!
To be honest i wasn't sure what i was doing!!!
Now the system will not boot!!
Now the system will not boot!!
As it boots, i See the following
ID NAME LEVEL STRIP SIZE STATUS BOOTABLE
0 ARRAY RAID0(Stripe) 128kb 298.0GB
Failed No
And below showing the two HDD's i have
PORT DRIVE MODEL SERIAL# SIZE TYPE/STATUS (vol ID)
0 WDC WD1600JD-75H WD-WMAL93939551 149.0GB
MEMBER DISK (0)
1 WDC WD1600JD-75H WD-WMAL93913863 149.0GB
NON-RAID DISK
It then says:
Strike F1 key to continue, F2 to run the set-up utility
I
press F1 at then it says:
No boot device available
strike F1 to retry, F2 for set-up utility
I continue to press F1 I go in circles or if i press F2, i then go into unfamiliar ground and am afraid to change something i shouldn't!!
Another avenue i have tried, is pressing F12 on the dell screen and then run HARD DRIVE DIAGNOSTICS, with both HDD's passing!!
If anyone can help pease do.
I have thought of using the system restore, but don't want to loose any data if possible
can anyone help, or shal i get an engineer out???
