Roxio 6 DVD/CD Does Not Recognize DVD/CD Burner

Recently, my Dell 4500S computer was attacked by viruses. I took it to a pro who cleaned up the viruses, reloaded software and updates. In the process my Roxio software was removed. The DVD-CD reader/writer was included in the purchase of the computer. The software that came with the computer to interface with the DVD is Pacific Digital, DVD Burner Bundle 3.3, Roxio, Easy CD/DVD Creator 6.2 Basic InterVideo WinDVD. The DVD burner is a NEC 2500A. I reinstalled the Roxio software. It works OK as far as getting and manipulating files from my C drive but when I ask it to burn to a DVD or CD I get the following message:

"There are no supported recorders available. Make sure your recorder is powered on and all cables are properly connected.

Also make sure that the latest version of the software is installed to ensure you have the latest drivers."

Some Facts
1) I can copy and read from the DVD/CD using exploring
2) My Adobe Photoshop recognizes the DVD/CD
3) My computer is clear of virsuses
4) Update on microsoft updates
5) C drive 80gb with 60 gb open
6) 1 gig of RAM
7) NEC DVD RW ND-2500a

Any ideas on how to fix the problem?

Thanks

cliffdivers,

Use the top one for the Platinum version or the bottom for the Basic version.
