On boot up press F2 to go into setup. Scroll down to Drive Configuration, press enter. The drive interfaces are listed including the two SATA which until now should be Off. Select the interface and press enter, press space to switch to Auto, Press enter again.
This takes you back to the interface list but the interface will show Unknown device, this is normal as the Dell BIOS only enumerates the drives fitted on initial startup and will not detect when the interface is turned on. Reboot and press F2 again, if it runs through OK it will go into setup straight away. Dells always produce a long delay if the drive hardware does not match the BIOS settings so if you are removing a device at the same time don't forget to change the device status of the one you no longer have fitted.
Now when you go into drive configuration in should show the new drive listed and you can go to the Boot configuration to select the SATA devise if that is what you want.
