Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm 160 GB Hard drive

Hello

Wonder if any one could help me I am trying to transfer files from the hard drive in my subject field, I'd like to know if there is a specific SATA CADDY disclosure I need to buy in order to transfer data, or will any 3.5 caddy do. As some come in different shapes and sizes.

If there is any one out there who knows please inform me.

Thank you

Hi Anderson10304

There is no specific hard drive enclosure for this ‘Seagate Barracuda’ HDD. However there are specific caddys for 2.5 or 3.5 size hard drives.  I suggest that you take the hard drive to any local shop and find a compatible enclosure.

Hope this helps.

Thanks and Regards,

Any SATA enclosure should work, but some will be eSATA, others USB 2.0, and still others USB 3.0. USB 2.0 is the most ubiquitous regarding PC port compatibility, but it's also the slowest.

Rosewill offers an enclosure featuring both USB 2.0 and eSATA (a full-height eSATA bracket plus an eSATA cable are included).

Thanks very much for your reply, I wonder if you know which one I could or should purchase for the seagate barrcuda hard drive from rosewill I've looked but they all look the same, your information would be useful.

Many Thanks

Thanks so much for all your replies, I have had a look on the website and it appears that this particular sata enclosure is not compatible with windows XP or at least that want its says in the description, also this is an american website I would like to purchase a similar one in the UK.

Thanks for any further replies in advance
