Sony DRU 510A info

I just found an OEM equivalent of the 510A at eebuy.com for $141.50 w/shipping. The part number is DWU-14ABK. The specs are identical to the 510A and it comes in either black or white bezel. ...So I ordered one as a Xmas present to myself. I'll let eveyone know how it works out. Oh yes, it comes with power dvd software but no cables.

same is at newegg for $144 shipped, or $150 at comp USA for the 510. Still perfer the TDK. The 4X's are price falling faster than WalMart prices, so maybe another buyers market xmas season again this year?

Cheers

Apladay, newegg is $152 shipped, and the compusa unit isn't black bezel. I searched high and low and I could only find the DRU-510AK (black bezel retail) at the sony site for $179.95 without shipping. I shopped around for a week before finding the eebuy.com unit.

Hi NFFAA,
Sounds like a pretty good buy, surely you`re not waiting til Christmas to try it out ..lol
Keep us informed, also I`m fairly sure you know but throwing this out there any way, you should have an available attachment on the Secondary channel.
Take care and good luck with the new drive.

It's good to see you on the forum, Predator. I haven't seen your posts for a while. Unfortunately, I am going to wait till xmas. My wife is insisting that I not open it so that I have a few things under the tree.Gota keep the peace, ya know. I have to order the goodies because she doesn't know the diference between cpu and pci. I am also getting a TV tuner card, but I'm not sure what kind I'll be getting. I've heard pretty good stuff about Leadtek's Winfast but Ati's TV Wonder has what looks like a good software bundle. I'll probably get the one that is on the screen when my finger gets tired of hovering over the mouse button on the buy page.

NFFAA,

You are quite correct, my bad. The Newegg price is for the white bezel version.

Ya know, you could wrap up the empty box, slap a bow on it, slip it under the green, then burn the heck outa media while you are waiting for xmas day. Please post which turner you end up with in the shopping cart, as I need to go that direction soon.

Cheers, and enjoy that burner

I will definitely post how the new critters in my tower behave themselves. My next project will be to upgrade my processor to a 2.4 400fsb P4. After that my system will be pretty much maxed out, so I'l probably sell the old and buy a new one. I'm not sure I'll be getting a Dell, though. I'll shop around 'till I find one that has support that speaks english,if any are left.

Hi NFFAA,
Pretty sneaking idea bye Apladay, would not work for me though, Deb never gets anything early, she believes in the "last minute panic" style of Christmas shopping !! I too am still debating Dell or build one myself, my little P100 is still clicking a long.

I tend to stay around the CD/RW area, slower pace and a good bunch of guys, we work well together, compliment one another, respect, but my time has been limited, our Company implemented "a new way of doing business" a $30 million program that they rolled out in stages, we`ve been trying to make it work and debug all at the same time. Each new update seems to corrupt one thing or another, almost sounds like Windows ... lol.

Again good luck will both projects.

Well, I ordered the Leadtek TV2000xp deluxe for $47 from newegg.com. It had the best reviews for installing and ease of use and it had a better price than a similar ATI card. I'll post how it works after I install it.
