Sony cd-rw crx216e
Hello.
My new Dimension 8300 with Sony crx216e cd-rw. The Sony cd-rw drive is very noisy and the game pack that i resceive with the machine is impossible to install. The installation stops with the volume nr.2 with the message " wrong volume". I cant find any new driver for the cd drive. What do i do?

Hi Knut,
The drivers are generic to your Operating System but it may have become corrupt, You can use Device Manager to correct a driver issue. Click on the CD/RW link in my post and scroll to Section 15, article 1.
You are not the first Member to complain about noisy drives, this is something you would need to discuss in "real time" with a Dell-Tech, consider contacting them bye phone, tehy should walk you through a few steps on this issue.

Unfortunately, without going through the troubleshooting, it would be hard to tell if replacing the drive would resolve your problem, since it could be a hardware or a software issue.
What type of system do you have? What is the operating system that you are running? What type of error messages are you getting?
You would also want to list the steps that you have gone through to troubleshoot this problem on your own. The media that you are trying to use to burn to can also have an affect on burning, some brands do not burn as well as others.
