Hi Babyfamily,
Please run the Dell diagnostics on your drive. To test your CD/DVD drive from the utility partition:
1. Reboot your system. When you see the Dell logo, hit F12 to enter the boot menu.
2. Select Boot to utility partition.
3. Select Test System.
4. Select Custom Test.
5. Use the arrow keys or mouse to select your CD/DVD drive.
6. Insert a DVD.
7. Click Run Tests.
8. Write down any error messages.

Rebooted the system and hit F12 the boot menu came up but I did not have an option to Boot to utility partition..
When I hit F12 the boot menu that comes up is as follows
tHard Drive
CD/DVD/CD-RW Drive
Removable Devices
Network
Diagnostics
Enter Setup
When I clicked on (CD/DVD/CD-RW Drive it starts windows)
When I click on Diagnostics it runs and it shows my CD/DVD/CD-RW has passed the test..

Follow these instructions in your service manual<ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell> to remove and reinstall your DVD drive. Then try the test again. If you get the same result, your drive will need to be replaced.

Time to get a replacement drive. If you have a TS-T633a, then that's how they behave before they fail.
