What's my benchmarks mean?

I benchmarked the 3 drives in my XPS 410. I downloaded a free small program called HD Tune v 2.53. I just googled 'hard drive benchmark' and came up with that.  Here's my results :
 

HD Tune: SAMSUNG SP2504C Benchmark

 (250 gb stock with my XPS 410)

  • Transfer Rate Minimum : 35.6 MB/sec
  • Transfer Rate Maximum : 71.8 MB/sec
  • Transfer Rate Average : 57.2 MB/sec
  • Access Time : 13.9 ms
  • Burst Rate : 104.8 MB/sec
  • CPU Usage : 2.4%

 

HD Tune: WDC WD3200JD-00KLB0 Benchmark

(320 gb SATA)

  • Transfer Rate Minimum : 36.2 MB/sec
  • Transfer Rate Maximum : 63.6 MB/sec
  • Transfer Rate Average : 54.4 MB/sec
  • Access Time : 13.6 ms
  • Burst Rate : 90.0 MB/sec
  • CPU Usage : 2.8%

HD Tune: WDC WD360GD-00FNA0 Benchmark

(this is my old school Raptor with 8mb cache)

  • Transfer Rate Minimum : 33.9 MB/sec
  • Transfer Rate Maximum : 55.0 MB/sec
  • Transfer Rate Average : 47.4 MB/sec
  • Access Time : 9.2 ms
  • Burst Rate : 88.9 MB/sec
  • CPU Usage : 2.3%

 

Of the 3, I'm lost.

 Raptor : best ACCESS TIME and lowest CPU usage

 250 Samsung (dell) : Highest Burst Rate and Tranfer Rates but also HIGHer Access Times (not good)

 320gb WD : High CPU usage (bad) and middle of the testing on everything else.

 

SO : is access time the winning factor? or is transfer rates? Cpu usage when I have a core2duo cpu, does this even matter anymore?

 

Please post your thoughts here. *note, the Raptor has Windows XP MCE 2005 on it and is the system drive. I'm unaware if this effects the testing or not.

your drives are doing just fine.
 
Those numbers are entirely normal for those drives.
 
Raptors have better access times (lower number) and usually higher transfer rates than other drives, but your 36gig Raptor is among the first generation of Raptors, so those numbers are entirely in line with what they should be. New Raptors are in the 74gig and 150gig sizes, and each of them are a bit faster than the previous generation.
 
Your other two SATA drive numbers are also quite typical.
 
as far as which is better access time or transfer rate, it all depends on the application.
