****Win Xp Prof Set-up error --- Setup did not find any hard disk drives!

I use Dell Desktop Dimension E520, when it was loading the windows Xp's file it said:

Set-up did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer...

Set-up cannot continue...

Any ideas pleas?

Please as a recommendation do not tell me to change AHCI to IDE as my Bios does not have such option.

Have you tried the following:

If you don't have RAID, then there should no need to install the Matrix Driver, but you need to make the following changes,

F2 to enter the Setup.

Arrow down to Drives, then enter.

Arrow down to SATA operation, then enter

Arrow to RAID Autodetect / ATA and click enter to select.

Then click ESC to save and exit.

Unfortunately, that option did not help me. Not to mention that it is a default setting in Bios.

Hi henriengineer,

Are you sure your hard drive is working? Is it detected in the BIOS?
