m1710: Installing new harddrive
I received a new HDD 7200 and would like to install it. When I opened the package I saw that the connecter was different. The original HDD has 2 female sockets (if that is what you call it) and the new HDD has one male socket. Does the original HDD have a plug that I can remove and use it on the new HDD 7200?
Is there a guide that shows this with some illustrations?
Thank you very much

Thank you very much for your reply! >)
I have read that one can actually remove the HDD from its "caddy" and change the connector. I can't try it at the moment, I am in Cairo. When I am back I will see if I can change the connector.
The HDD they have sent me has a long "male" connector and the installed HDD has two "female" connectors next to each other. One of my collegues said that I should remove the HDD from its caddy and gently remove the connector and exhange with the installed one.
It is correct Jimmy P?
