problem with TSSTcorp DVD+-RW SN-208BB driver

Hiya I have an Inspiron Windows 8 laptop, only about a month old and the DVD have stopped showing.  I put in a cd or dvd and nothing shows.  It makes noises but nothing shows.  I have run a Hardware and Device problem solving and it says there is a problem with the above drive and the USB-IF drive.  I select apply this fix but it says it can not be fixed and the driver must be reinstalled.

Ive tried finding this driver on the dell website and I can't seem to find it.  I believe its a Toshiba product but am really stuck now.  Can anyone help? :(

Hmm, well I went into Device Manager, uninstalled and it did something and came back again!?  I tried the same with the USB driver I had troubles with but that didn't come back :/  Hmmmm....

Sorry, try this:

a)  Right click on the  Left Bottom Corner (Start Menu).

b) Run  Command Prompt as an Administrator
c) Type  cmd in Windows 8 Metro UI and press  cltr+shift+enter.

d) Type the following and then enter

reg.exe add "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Controller0" /f /v EnumDevice1 /t REG_DWORD /d 0x00000001

e)  Reboot the system.

f) Verify if the problem has been resolved.

Sorry. Please try what I just posted above. I've not had to run this myself.

Oh wow, I don't really know what I'm looking for!  I've opened the Windows 8 Support and it just takes you back to a main menu.  Do I click for technical assistance or find it myself?!  I'm not very good at all this lol

Pressing ctrl shift enter doesnt do anything?  My command prompt screen has opened in administrator  C:\Windows\system32>  prompt is showing.  Typing CMD and ctrl shift enter doesnt do anything?

Hi Kellsangel,

Please try the old upper and lower filter trick (link below). That might be the same thing you already tried. If the report says it found a problem but cannot fix it, go HERE and scroll down to the Let me fix it myself instructions and follow that procedure.
