samsung dvd rom sd-616t
i was just wondering why my dvd rom will not play bruned dvd's ..i backed up some of my movies with ..dvd shrink..dvdxcopy..neither one will work..my dvd burner will play them just fine..i have a 8250 which i bought in april 2003..any idea's?

i found my problem..this drive does not suport dvd+r format..what gets me is that it has a dvd+r bruner in it..cant figure what dell was thinking then...

Hi TnGuy,
First due to Dell Policy, which is locked-in at the top of this conference from Dell-Stephen, any mention of using DVDX Copy or the Shrink program more than likely will get the post deleted. I will address your question on the DVD+R media issue. Dell has a Firmware update for the 616T that adds support for the DVD+R media, Click on the "Downloads" tab at the top of this conference, enter information for your system and follow the links, you should find it. If not, then click on the CD/RW gif in my post and scroll to Section 5-1.
