when shutting down my dimension 4300 error message comes on stating can't shut down

Winit.exe or is it Winet.exe is shutting down.  I hit end now and it goes to shut down and the box comes up again.  Have to keep doing it until windows is able to close. How do I get rid of this. Is this program needed? Thanks Oops, wait a minute.  Its called winnet.exe dll failed initialization????

ERiley.

As this is a software problem, try posting it in the forum that's corresponds to the version of windows installed in the system, this conference is for Dimension hard drive questions.

Go to the Add/Remove list and look for this program.  Remove it and reboot.

Download Spybot (search Google).  Update Spybot and run the Spybot program.  Spybot may find traces of winnet.exe.  Allow Spybot to remove Winnet.  Reboot PC.
