will it overload ?

I am using dell dimension 5100 , intel 945G ,

there is a spare power cable and I just use it to connect my new hard drive which is 1000gb

without any change/modification to my internal power supply , will it overload ? and in fact

, i am using it now ( i just add the hard drive today ) without much problem , but will it

my large size harddisk cause overload to motherboard or power supply etc in the long run?

do i need to upgrade the power supply or motherboard or cpu etc?

No, you are fine with the current PSU.  Modern HDs generally use less power rather than more (except for very high end drives).  The size is not that important when considering power.

No, you will not overload the power supply and you don't need to upgrade it, to use a 1000gb [1TB] SATA hard drive.

The motherboard, the default PSU and the processor are fine.

Bev.
