Deleted Files Support Assistant.

When Support Assistant runs it cleans duplicate files. Numerous duplicate files. Does it delete my duplicatae personal files? I don't want any of my personal files deleted. Programs are okay to delete but not my downloads or pictures or personal files. How do I make sure it is not doing that. Cant find that answer.

Hi suzyq209103 :

You can find additional details about what the SupportAssist optimization scans (Clean Files, Optimize Performance, Optimize Network) actually do in the section titled "Support Assist Optimizations" of SupportAssist for Business PCs with Windows OS Frequently Asked Questions.

I don't want SupportAssist to empty my Recycle Bin or clean my Windows registry so I've turned off all automated update checks and optimization scans [Options (gear icon) | Settings | Automate Scans and Optimizations | Scan Your System and Drivers at: | DISABLED] and only run the occasional manual "Get Drivers & Downloads" or "Hardware Scan" from the Home tab.

I agree with this.  It would be better if after the scan, the user had the option what to delete and what not do delete.  Pro Support told me that anything deleted will show up in the recycle bin; however, if it empties the recycle bin, I guess not.  I have not tried this yet.
