Dell Update stuck on "SupportAssist OS Recovery Tools" update
Dell Update reports there's an update for "SupportAssist OS Recovery Tools". When I click Install Now, it looks like it installed, but it reports the same update again an hour later (or immediately if I force update check).
I have this problem on two XPS 13 9550's, and this thread shows five other users (and counting) having the problem on machines including XPS 15, Inspiron 15-7569.
Is Dell aware of this installer bug, and will there be a fix? That notification balloon is really irritating.

Update on the Support Assist issue:
SupportAssist OS utility team had turned off the web update last week which was causing this “pop up” reminder inconvenience to users, there were no incoming concerns since then.
Issue root cause was identified and the hotfix is currently being tested. This new update will go live late next week is what they are shooting for. Thanks Everyone for your patience.

I've been having this problem on a Inspiron 13-5378 since approximately the date the fix went live. I'm not aware of it before then.

This did not solve the problem. After installing Dell System Detect, Dell Support seems to launch delayed after reboot. But when Dell Support does run, it gets stuck in the same Support Assist install loop.

I recently purchased a Dell laptop - I love it. However, I got the "Dell Update" 2 updates are ready to install - SupportAssist OS Recovery Tools box in the lower right corner and it will not go away. I can't even see the bottom of the message. From reading through this thread, I believe it has been a problem for quite some time and there was an update that fixed it? I really need to know what to do to get this off my laptop - it's covering up important information. Please advise... thank you.

Same here. Just got my Inspiron 13 7378 and am getting annoyed by the same pop up over and over.

Same problem. Very annoying that this is not fixed. Doesn't speak well of Dell's ability to resolve problems remotely!

I'm having the same problem. It seems that Dell hasn't fixed the issue. I'm about to try Dell System Detect and see if that works.

I stopped getting updates after Feb. 14 and since the hotfix of Apr. 21 things have been fine: it checks for updates every 3 days and most of the time nothing to update.
Perhaps a manual update could work for some of you as it did for me (see post Feb. 6) on my Dell Inspiron 3650.

This was fixed for me in the middle of May, about 10 days after I posted about my problem.
