Driver update won't get past validating
The title says everything. The most recent recommended update gets stuck in "validating". I have a Inspirion 5590, got it this year. From checking around, it seems I am not the only one having this problem, however the solutions I've seen did not work.

@Alexmed
Have you tried disabling your anti-virus/anti-malware software? It sometimes interferes with SupportAssist installing drivers, and the symptom of being stuck "Validating" is common to that issue.
I hope this helps. Have a great day.

To anyone reading this thread that had the same problem, the solution was to download the driver manually.

Agreed. Start with any outbound firewall. In particular, those running Malwarebytes Windows Firewall control, set the profile to 'Low Filtering'. Once the update finishes, set it back to 'Medium Filtering' (or 'High Filtering' if you use that).
