Reduce disk space used by SARemediation
Obviously Support Assist exists for a reason and I use it.
Disk analysis indicates Support Assist has 84 folders containing a total of 125,310 files using 23 gigabytes of disk space. That's a massive amount of disk space for the tasks I use it for. Is there a way to reduce its footprint and still retain its function?

Imacri, et. al:
New Dell Inspiron 1500-5510 user here with the same problem: I'm losing free space. I'd like to just remove all the Dell stuff, but I don't want to create a bunch of errors. So, I'm trying to follow your advice. I disabled System Repair (I do regular Macrium b/u's). That got me an immediate +14 gb free space. But I'm still way below what I should have. I tried to look at C:\ProgramData\Dell\SARemediation\SystemRepair\ . But the SAR file says it has 0 storage. Nothing is visible. I have Show Hidden files checked Any ideas?
ANYONE?

Hi compiler7:
Use the TreeSize Free utility to check all the directory sizes on your hard drive and see which folders are using the most disk space.
*** I prefer to use the Portable edition of TreeSize Free (TreeSizeFree-Portable.zip available <here>). Just save and unzip the .ZIP in any location (I unzip in a folder I created on a removable USB thumb drive called D:\TreeSize ) and double-click TreeSizeFree.exe to launch.
System Repair is disabled on my Inspiron 5584 and TreeSize Free shows my C: drive is currently using ~ 102 GB of my 250 GB SSD. My entire C:\ProgramData\ folder is currently using 5.3 GB of disk space, and if I expand that C:\ProgramData\ folder I can see that my C:\ProgramData\Dell subfolder is only using 485 MB of disk space.

Users should note that the YouTube video How to Clean Up Disk Space in Windows 11 DELL (Official Dell Tech Support) suggested <above> includes some excellent advice on how to use built-in Windows tools like Storage Sense, Disk Cleanup, etc. to purge unnecessary temporary files, delete unused UWP apps, etc., but a disk cleanup will not fix the problem being discussed in this thread.
This thread is discussing an issue where the disk space used to store Dell system repair points in the hidden and protected C:\ProgramData\Dell\SARemediation\Snapshots folder created by Dell SupportAssist Remediation (a.k.a. Dell SupportAssist OS Recovery / System Repair) often exceeds the 12 GB, 15 GB or 18 GB maximum disk space chosen by the user. See the images in my 19-Jun-2021 post <here>.
Turning off System Repair in your SupportAssist settings [Options (gear icon) | Settings | System Repair | System Repair is Turned On | DISABLED] or the SupportAssist OS Recovery settings manager (Control Panel | System and Security | SupportAssist OS Recovery | Settings | System Repair | OFF) should purge the Dell system repair points stored in your C:\ProgramData\Dell\SARemediation\Snapshots folder. However, this is likely a temporary solution and that folder will eventually exceed the 12 GB, 15 GB or 18 GB of maximum disk space you choose once System Repair is turned back on. It's a long-standing bug in the Dell SupportAssist Remediation program and Dell needs to provide a permanent fix.
Note that I no longer have Dell SupportAssist Remediation v5.5.x installed on my Inspiron 5584. I got tired of waiting for Dell to fix the bugs in this software (including the flood of "Successful Application Reconfiguration" events that were logged in my Reliability Monitor whenever this software created a Dell system repair point - see Dell employee NikhilKiroula's 02-Jul-2021 post on page 8 of DELLKaren's "Successful Application Reconfiguration" and SupportAssist) and I now use Macrium Reflect Free imaging software to create emergency recovery media (a bootable USB thumb drive) the occasional full disk image that I can use to restore my entire hard drive to an earlier date if disaster ever strikes.
