SA, issue with scanning service

I have a problem scanning my computer. While other functions are typically performed, the computer scanning service is not running. The last time the service was executed was 23-5-2019.Can someone tell me what is going on?????

To be frank, we have seen problems (or non problems) with the Support Assist.  If the PC is working OK I wouldn't worry about Support Assist.  Many users have either disabled or uninstalled Support Assist.   Any desired driver updates are manually downloaded and installed.

I had to get rid of SupportAssist, it broke my Windows installation. I do not trust Dell's programming.

Hi PAIXTARAS,

Thanks for posting and for providing your service tag information.

 

Please uninstall all instances of SupportAssist.  You may need to use a 3rd party program uninstaller to get them all as some people have reported as many as 3 instances running.  Once that is completed, update your bios version and please install the latest version of SupportAssist .

 

Post back to let us know if that resolved your issue.

Does the user actually need to install SupportAssist again, after solving the problem? I thought it was optional.

No. Only if the user wants to continue using SupportAssist.
