Battery life degrades over a period of time for any battery.
The battery test on SupportAssist determines the current battery life and compares it with the design life. Battery life: The current maximum charge the battery can retain. This value is expressed as a percentage of the battery design life. Design life: The maximum charge the battery is designed to retain. Typically, this value is 100% when the system exits manufacturing. This value degrades upon each successive re-charge of the battery.
If the current battery life is less than 25% of the design life, the test logs as Failed. If the battery life is less than 50% of the design life, the test produces a Warning.
In your case, February's test the battery was in the warning state as you can see it clearly on the scan history, which has degraded over a period of time and now is in a capacity less than 25% that's why the scan is showing a Failed now. I hope this helps!
Warning and failed status will definitely be shown on the Home screen UI. If you still have the same battery, can you please rerun the hardware scan and share the screenshots of both the home screen and history page.
I have sent a private message to you to share some logs from your machine, can you please share them to me as well?
I fully understand what you are saying but it does not help as my issue is with the main SupportAssist home screen, which is my first screenshot.
As you can see, it shows No hardware issues found and this happens even when the scan has found a warning or failed issue with some hardware.
My issue is that when the main Home screen showed No hardware issues found, I did not check the scan history as why would I check the history when the software is telling me that everything is okay !
If the Home screen had shown that there was a warning or failed issue with the hardware, then I would have checked the history to find out which hardware was causing the issue !
