Support Assist Prompts

Every day when I startup with my admin account, in the Windows notification area I get support assist prompts that updates etc are available. However, when I click on them they disappear. I checked the control panel programs and support assist is installed, but I cannot find an icon to start it in my start menu.

On another note, a few months ago some Dell support program (I assume it was support assist) started automatically and scanned my system. Eventually it updated the bios. It has never happened again.

Where is the support assist icon? Should I uninstall and reinstall support assist.

Hi @MagicBob58 ,

If you're on Win10, Dell SupportAssist do not exist as an installed program in Control Panel, but an app in Microsoft Store. Check this out:

I am on Windows 10 Pro and Dell SupportAssist is in Control Panel | Programs and All settings | Apps. The Dell SupportAssist icon should be in the Start menu in the Dell folder. The status of the SupportAssist service should be in Computer Management | Services and Applications | Services.
