Support Assistant icon missing Optiplex 7040, Win10
So - Dell update command said there were 2 updates. Clicked OK - updated BIOS - perfect. Couldnt tell about the other programme updated so ran Support Asst (SA). This said error in running, so tried to uninstall from start menu. My stupidity? (as opp from programmes in control panel [CP]). Rebooted, tried reinstalling suport asst. Said already installed. Went to CP. Support Asst sill present. Tried to uninstall but got error 1720 msg. Went to Microsoft and downloaded unistall fix software. This uninstalled SA. Rebooted. Tried to reinstall SA from Dell website. Eventually said already installed (but this was after MS uninstalled it and it was not present in Programmes in CP before or after I tried the reinstall!). So where is SA? Thanks

Thanks so much for the reply and apologies for the delay in getting back to you. Unfortunately this did not work. I have been in contact with Dell tech support who after more than an hour has had to escalate the problem. No idea what they did/ will do as no IT expert! But thanks again.
