SupportAssist Not Responding at Launch
I have an XPS 15 9560 Signature Edition with an Intel Core i7 7700HQ @ 2.80GHz, 16 GB of RAM, a 4GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 and a 500 GB SSD. I have been having issues with Dell SupportAssist for a few weeks now, since the latest update, and need help. When I launch the program, the window pops up and stays idle indefinitely, as if loading content. If I click on the window, a message appears and says that the program is not responding. I dug through some boards and found that some dell moderators or some such were recommending uninstalling and reinstalling the program. I followed the steps to the letter and was just left with a messed up registry and a program that does not work. I couldn't even reinstall the program, because it says I have the latest version, even though I deleted every file specified within the registry and the program files. After I kept trying I was just left with a blue screen and needed to use the last windows save point if I didn't want to lose all of my files and whatnot. I still have the same issue and have not been able to solve it at all. If anyone can offer help, it would be quite welcome.
PS. Dell should work on a program that verifies SupportAssist's file integrity, rather than making me go into the registry and potentially kill my expensive computer.
PPS. I also ended up using Reimage to fix everything in my registry, although nothing could be done about SupportAssist, I assume because it's considered a third party program.

It won't install. It says I have the latest and closes.

I had the same problem here ,support assist not responding.
uninstalled the app , downloaded the DELL support assist installer from DELL , registered with my email and so far DELL support assist works again.
keeps telling me about the new important BIOS update but I don't take that risk .

What worked for me:
1. Uninstall Support Assistant from "Programs"
2.Restart my computer (Alienware Aurora)
3. Reinstalled from Dell support website linked in a previous post
***Total fix took about 5 minutes***
Us users, need to let Dell know about this persisting issue, so they can figure out a solution. They should know not to issue and update if it is going to cause issues for the very application they have in place to solve/remedy our computer issues. This tool is supposed to help us, not cause headaches.

Try this ...
Worked for me... just a matter of renaming a .png file

I have three Dell computers: a laptop, a desktop, and an all-in-one. SupportAssist does not work on any of them now. What a pain.

I've just reinstalled Support Assist on one PC and it is now working. I have to do it on another now. Also when I tried to log into my profile it would not take my password (which I was 100% certain was correct) and I had to change it. All in all a very poor performance from Dell. Why the **bleep** don't they properly test software before putting it on my PC.

My PC told me that I already have the most current version installed, and this problem persists. I will NOT be doing a factory reset to solve this issue!

This solved my problem. Uninstalled the bad Support Assist and installed the one described above. Thank you DellFanHungary.

I have exactly the same issue.
This is not satisfactory for DELL which are supposed to be a premium computer supplier.
