SupportAssist OS Recovery reports "paused capturing snapshots due to insufficient disc space."
I recently installed SupportAssist OS Recovery on my Inspiron laptop. There's a shortcut in my start menu and I discovered another in my Control Panel > System and Security. The shortcut in the start menu opens a large window titled "OS Recovery Tool", where I am instructed to first "Select a computer". The shortcut in my Control Panel opens a small window with the title "SupportAssist OS Recovery", which initially appears black and reports that the tool is "Paused capturing snapshots due to insufficient disc space. We will automatically resume capturing snapshots once you free up enough disk space." After clicking OK and going to settings, it indicates the recommended disk space to reserve for snapshots is 15 GB.
I have several questions.
1) Are Dell's "OS Recovery Tool" and "SupportAssist OS Recovery" the same tool?
2) If so, why are the software windows they open different?
3) Why does the SA OS Recovery window recommend 15 GB of space for system snapshots, but the Dell SupportAssist OS Recovery User’s Guide (November 2020) say, "System Repair feature is automatically enabled on all the computers with at least 50 GB of free disk space..."
4) I have over 600 GB of free space on Drive C:, so why isn't SA OS Recovery able to make snapshots?!
My computer has become intermittently unresponsive recently, I'm trying to troubleshoot the issue and I may need to use the OS Recovery Tool, but I am unable to make any sense of the organization of this confusing support software.
