Unable to run SupportAssist as Admin

Hello everybody,

I have a Dell precision 5540.

As my standard login, I have noticed SupportAssist claims a  number of drivers are pending an upgrade but it explicitly says I can only run this as Admin. When I log in my Admin profile SupportAsists opens and within a fraction of a seconds disappears.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues? If so, could you share how this was fixed?

Best regards and thanks in advance,

Bruno

I had the same issue with my dell computer. Try below to get it fixed.

  1. Type Services in the start menu
  2. Right click on 'Services' and run as administrator
  3. Type in the administrator password if needed. Mine didn't
  4. Find and double-click the service "Dell SupportAssist"
  5. Go to the Log On tab. I chose "Local System account" as i am the only user.
  6. I had to stop and start the dell support service to make it effective real time.

Did not work for me! Turns out I had to download an updated version of SupportAssist.
