where to save programs when I have 2 drives
I had my SSD replaced yesterday and have to reinstall software. I want to make sure I'm saving things to the correct drive and I'm not sure about where I first saved things to when I originally got the machine a few months ago.
I have two drives -- the SSD and a regular one (sorry I don't remember the technical term for that drive).
Can you tell me what gets saved where? For example...I've got a Malware Bytes subscription and I have editing software. I do a lot of work with video and audio files so do they get saved somewhere else?
Thanks.

I've made the default save location settings changes as specified in the link to allow them to be installed on the D: drive. I've downloaded a couple applications to install, and the installer still prompts me to install in C:\Program Files (x86). The installers allow me to select the D drive and install the applications successfully. However, I get an error every time I try to launch the applications stating that "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file". Changing permissions to the folders and files doesn't make a different. As a result, I've been forced to install all my applications on the C: drive, which now has only 3GB free This is a new Dell G5 with a 128GB SSD for C: and a 1TB HDD for D. What could be blocking these applications from running?
