What the heck if Volume Set Addressing (V-Bit)

I heard that term for the first time today, and I'm and not sure what it does, or what it applies to. Help!

So basically it is the ability to change the lun ordering at the host level? Does this apply for windows?

you use this FA /host_hba flag when connecting HPUX hosts ..search Symmetrix forum for volume set addressing..you will see a couple of threads.

Looks like VDA is also known as VCM Dynamic Addressing, Dynamic LUN Addressing,Dynamic Addressing or Dynamic Host Addressing. (Primus emc167201)
